- To, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani (may Allah grant him long life). I am Sayyid Muhammad and I was born in 1995. I became adult exceptionally at 8 according to Islamic standards and as most of my friends and relatives say, I became mentally mature at 13. I began to read psychology and sociology books and I used to give advice to people and youngsters at 13 and I am still doing this. Moreover, I have authored five books on family issues titled “Encyclopedia of Family” (4 volumes) and “Take Marriage Easy” (1 volume). I have also been writing articles on family, social and occasionally political issues. As of now, I have written as many as 100 articles on family related subjects. To be honest, I am very well acquainted with the principles and doctrines of Islam and family law. I have good knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence. At present I am 17 years old and I have full knowledge of fatawa (verdicts) of 35 religious authorities or jurisprudents. I am a religious minded person. I have been in love with my cousin (maternal aunt’s daughter) for the past one year and I am pretty certain that there is no rational, moral or religious objection to my love. I have done Istikhara for five times to make sure she is suitable and appropriate for me. Every time I did Istikhara, it came out excellent. I am certain that my love, which is pure in nature, is a gift of God. It should be noted that I have never been in touch with my cousin during the past one year in which I have fallen in love with her. I haven’t talked to her either. No one knows that I love her. The girl also does not know that I love her. Also, I have not tried to start friendship or establish a secret relationship with her because my knowledge of religious and Islamic issues tells me that such a relationship is illicit. However, I understand that I have pure love for her and I have not committed any error in this regard. Now I am willing to go ahead and send her a proposal for marriage. I would like to ask you whether or not it is appropriate for me to marry her at this age. Is it haram for me to love her? I request you to pray for this union to take place.
- A person’s paternal uncle had infertility problem. When the man’s sister was pregnant, he adopted her male child when she was giving birth to him. The man even got him an ID card with his name registered as his father. Years later, the adopted child’s real father died and his heirs divided his inheritance among themselves excluding the adopted child under the pretext that he was now another man’s son. The child also believed that his maternal uncle was his father. He was working with him and helping the family in earning the livelihood of the family. No one informed him that his maternal uncle was not his real father until his uncle died. Upon his death and when the adopted boy was 25, the heirs gathered and divided his uncle’s estate without including him. They deprived him of his inheritance telling him that he was not their brother’s real child. The question is: He has been deprived of the inheritance by both sides? What are the Islamic and legal rights of such a person? Thanks

- It has been noticed at times that a man from one family recites the formula of temporary marriage with a girl from another family so as to make the mother of that family his mother-in-law. Thus his visit to that family will be easy and the woman will not have to wear hijab in front of him. It should also be noted that the girl with whom temporary marriage is contracted may even be 5 to 6 years old. Is such a marriage contract especially with a small female child permissible?
- Salamun alaykum. Kindly reply to my questions with a view to the explanations provided below: According to Supreme Leader of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, it is not permissible as a measure of obligatory precaution, to turn to an equally qualified Marja (jurist) for Taqlid. Also, I know that Grand Ayatollah Sistani has stated clearly that it is permissible to turn to an equally qualified Marja. Considering that Supreme Leader’s answer is based on precaution and Ayatollah Sistani has an explicit fatwa in this regard, I believe I can refer to Ayatollah Sistani in this regard. Now my questions are as follows: 1. When I refer to Ayatollah Sistani and act according to his fatwa in this regard, do I have to follow him in jurisprudential issues of my concern or I can, as per his fatwa, refer to an equally qualified Marja such as Grand Ayatollah Saafi Gulpaigani or Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi? 2. Keeping in view the above explanation, if I do not follow another Marja instead of Ayatollah Khamenei in issues regarding fasting, does it mean that the new Marja would be my Marja in all jurisprudential issues (i.e. the Supreme Leader will no longer be my Marja) or is it that I will follow him in matters regarding fasting but I will remain a Muqallid of Ayatollah Khamenei in other issues? (In fact, I want to know whether referring to a Marja requires the follower to follow him in all issues or does it mean that he will follow him in one or two issues). 3. If I refer from the Supreme Leader to another Marja in a single issue, can I reverse to the leader following him once again later on or should I follow the new Maraj for ever? 4. On the whole, is he who refers to another Marja supposed to follow the new Marja in one issue only or can he follow him in an entire subject such as fasting or prayer?
- In His Name, the Most High Respected Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani (may Allah grant him long life), Salamun alaykum You are kindly requested to furnish answers to the understated questions: It happens during our journey to foreign countries including Syria that some tour agencies take passengers for a one day tour to Lebanon. The pilgrims of the shrine of Lady Zainab (sa) are taken to places where they are served with meals from restaurants such as Macdonald’s or from such other American food companies. Keeping in view the fact that this can be a manifestation of helping strangers (non-Muslims) to dominate Muslims, is it permissible for us to buy and consume food products or other things sold by such companies? Please advise us with regard to this issue. May Allah grant you long life.
- Salamun alaykum. 1-I have been suffering from an intestinal problem for the past six years. I have been to more than ten doctors but to no avail. Some say that you have a nervous and irritable bowel. In a nutshell, I am suffering from incontinence and I cannot retain my wudhu because I cannot control my bowl. After I make wudhu, I often break wind even in the middle of two successive prayers. I have not been able to find a cure and it is becoming a source of headache and frustration for me. I am becoming increasingly tired now and I wonder what my religious obligation is. 2- I have problem offering my prayers especially the noon and afternoon prayers. Since these two prayers should be offered in low and whispering voice, I sometimes have to offer my prayers several times because according to Imam Khomeini (ra), if one does not recite even one tašdīd "emphasis", his prayers become void. What is my obligation? I often cannot correctly pronounce the letter “zad” (ض). How do I have to go about it?
