Is it permissible and or is advisable for Muslims to participate in elections and voting on the United States of America? On one hand the government is not a truly just system at all and it seems unlikely that foundational changes can come about through the voting /election process. Also there are different levels of voting as well. . Some times there are votes which have to do more with local government (in cities for example: city council, mayor) . Sometimes there are the bigger elections (presidential, congress ) . Sometimes there seem to be opportunities to put pressure on elected officials to vote on a new law or bill (laws about police or employment law etc) What is your legal view and advice for Muslims living in places like America in this regard?
